Prosperous-Lifestyle

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.”

                                                                                                                                                 — Winston Churchill

What does it mean to prosper? The formal Miriam Webster definitions are:

To succeed in an enterprise or activity; especially to achieve economic success:

To become strong and flourishing.

You may have heard it said…”I wish that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers”. That profound statement has been around for quite some time. When thinking about prosper or prosperity, there is a powerful underlying meaning which propels us to want to apply this concept to everything that we do. We may want to be prosperous in all things…our career, finances, family life, relationships, business, education, and most of all our health.

When I came up with the idea for Prosperous Lifestyle some years ago, that was my thinking. I had recently been diagnosed with cancer, my career was sputtering, I was disenchanted with a business I had recently started, and I felt like massive change was in order. My primary concern of course was my health but I knew that my mental health was just as important as I needed to maintain a positive attitude as I endured the necessary treatment to deal with my illness. I also felt the weight and strain of everything around me, notwithstanding my family who depended on me greatly, so it was the challenge of a lifetime. I began to focus on winning…on conquering all areas of discontent and turning my life and circumstances around; and I mainly thought about gaining prosperity. But not only in my health, but in everything I was faced with and the many battles which were confronting me. It was then that I realized I need a Prosperous-Lifestyle.

So what does it mean and how do you get it? Well, we know there are many types of lifestyles…many related to careers or professions, like an entertainer or athlete, a doctor or archeologist. They all may have lifestyles which coincide with what they do for a living, however a Prosperous Lifestyle reverses the inertia and allows you to be at the center of your life choices. You determine your lifestyle and the lifestyle you determine is one that allows you to prosper in every aspect. Yes, it sounds wonderful but how is this done? Well initially we must want to do it? We hear all the time about New Year’s resolutions, or a push to lose a few pounds, or maybe we want to cut out sweets or meat for a while to reach a certain goal. Maybe our doctor tells us to cut back on something or risk some unwanted health condition. These are nice, temporary solutions to existing problems but the likelihood of returning to the place you came from is high. When we think about a lifestyle change, the most important aspect of it is that it’s permanent. We don’t do it for a little while, or until we lose that specified weight…we are changing for good and we are embracing this new change because we want to , we need to and we will be rewarded with the unlimited benefits which are associated with prosperity.

So let’s look forward to adopting a prosperous lifestyle and as we do, we will begin to grow many branches and prosper in the many areas and stages of our life. And that is worth all of the effort we will put into it. It will become easier as we go along and soon we will begin to enjoy, master, anticipate and crave it while influencing others with our lifestyle. Let’s go get it…and more importantly, let’s go live it.
